The Waterloo

Interesting looking pub from the outside. On Wellington street in the financial district. Never been in here looks bigger on the outside, quite small inside. 25 chairs tops.
Gantry is odd. Normal setup on one side of the bar then pink, green and yellow bottles of what looks like alchopops on the other.
Got a pint of tennents £2.90 not bad, good pint. Tennents, Guinness, Kronenberg, San Migule, Carling, Strongbow, Magners, John Smiths and Stella on draught.
I think this may be a gay bar. Staff are friendly, music is cheesy teen Brit pop from the 90s.
I think supping up is in order as there is only so much back street boys I can listen to.
Pint was good though!

The Admiral

On Waterloo st. I did not know it existed. Old school looking pub from the outside. Strange shape on the inside. Long bar than runs the length of the narrow room, stops mid way and the room changes into a more restaurant / dinner look.

Bog standard gantry nothing special at all.Guinness, Amstel, Fosters, Sagres, Heineken, Deuchers, Moretti and Strongbow on tap. I have ordered a pint of Moretti for a change. Nice pint in qtheir big challace glass but the price. Fek me £4.50 this isn't London !!  Restaurant prices in a pub do not sit well with me.

Over all nothing to this bar. It's got Royal Navy Ship standards in bost in the mirrors which adds a little something. It may have an interesting story but there is nothing on display. Staff are friendly enough and being in the heart of Glasgows financial district it's very quite except a couple of suitted gents At the bar.
Supping up? Yes!! It was worth a look I won't be back. to expensive for what you get. Oh Fosters is £2.80. Lol I think that sums it up....

Cafe source

It should not really be on this post as its more restaurant than bar. However it's one of those little gems that gets over looked.
Located in the St. Andrews on the square building, gantry is top notch as they expect people to eat not drink. Usual suspects on tap Guiness, Tennents but it also  has Peronni and st mungo.
It's a restaurant really,  but it has a wee side garden for drinking in the sun.  Iam sat there just now drinking a pint of Tennents £ 3.60 not to bad for a posh restaurant. Hard place to critique, you need to try it for yourself. I like it!
Supping up? Depends on your bank balance and your company, Iam on my own so no. Iam chillin.
Try it you might be supprised.

McChuills

What can I say? One of those pubs you need to try. Located on the high street. Favoured hang out for Celtic fans and mods. Weird tap selection Fosters, HIeneken Kronenbourg, Guiness and one or two others. Gantry is ok not in here for the spirits though.
It's got a pool table and the music is a mix off everything really. £3.80 a pint of Kronenbourg not to bad really. Located under the railway arches, this gives it a dark weird atmospher.  If there were ever a seasonal pub this would be it. To hot and stale I the summer, much better in the winter.
Supping up? No real need, yet for some reason I can't put my finger on; Yes!
Staff are friendly, punters sound. Just I don't want to linger. Strange, ill figure out why some day.

13th Note

On king st across from the car park. Hang out for musicians not a bad boozer. £3.20 a pint of Tennents, strange tap selection. Strapoprvin, Estrea Guinness Tennents andCaledonian. Gantry is sparse do not recognise most of it.

Weird mix of students and tattooed folk, staff are friendly and it's quite chilled out. No hassle and no need for supping up quick. Always a good night if you are here to watch a gig. Not a place I would frequent often but nice for a change.

The Bon Accord

What can I say? One of those bars that you have to try. If you like your drink its an absolute must. Has pritty much everything you would want from an ole school bozzer.
The usual suspects on draught but you dnt step in here for a pint of lager. You come here to try one of their ales.
I am sat drinking Tempest £3.30 a pint has a hopey taste but its not over powering.
Fine gantry in here. If whisky is your thing you won't be disappointed. Bar staff are friendly, I actually was in the mood for a dark ale when I walked in.  I didn't recognise any of the taps so i asked what they would recommend. All the dark alles were drank over the weekend but he gave me a healthy sample of two ales which were close to what i wanted. One of which was almost 7% but was way to hoppy for me so i settled on the tempest.
No need to sup up, just sit and enjoy. I have only one problem with this bar. There is always an odd smell, like they have just cooked cauliflower, really weird.
After half a pint you donot notice. Anyway a must visit boozer

oneills sauchiehall st

Still surviving. Most O'Neill chain pubs that I used to frequent sold or changed hands. Not this one they revamped it. Large bar front and back. The back bar opens at night and I think they still have a late license.
£2.85 a pint of Tennent's can't argue with that, as its £3.30 in their sister pub in the merchant city. Good atmosphere no hassell.
No need to sup up quick can fill with students getting messy before heading to the garage. We have all done that though.
Good boozer
